Fractional CTO

Make the technical calls before they get expensive.

Architecture, vendors, hiring and roadmap from senior engineers who still ship production software. A few hours a week, for a monthly fee.

  • Seniorleadership, not a junior advisor
  • Weeklycall and written notes
  • 30 daysnotice to stop

The situation

You are making engineering decisions without an engineer you trust.

An agency quotes one stack and a freelancer swears by another. Investors ask about security and you are not sure what to say. Your first engineering hire is coming and nobody can interview them properly. Every decision feels reversible until it is not.

  • 90 daysto a written technical planArchitecture, risks and the next three hires.
  • 1person accountableFor every technical decision you make.
  • 0lock-inEverything is documented in your name.

What is included

Every month, you get the following.

  • A weekly call with written notes and decisions

  • Architecture and stack decisions, written down with the reasons

  • Vendor reviews before you sign, and investor due diligence answered

  • Hiring help, from job description to technical interview

  • A technical roadmap tied to your business plan

  • Code and pull request review when it matters

So the work you pay for is work you can keep.

How it starts

Three steps to a technical plan you trust.

  1. A thirty minute call

Where you are, what is in the way and whether this is the right fit.

  2. A two week review

We read the code, the contracts and the roadmap. You get a written picture of the risks.

  3. The first month

A plan for the next quarter, the decisions it needs, and a rhythm we keep each week.

When it is time to build

When it is time to build, our team builds it.

A straight answer

When a Fractional CTO is the wrong hire.

  • You need forty hours a week

Then you need a full-time CTO. We will help you hire one.

  • You want someone to agree with you

The job is to tell you what you do not want to hear, early.

  • There is no budget to act on advice

A plan with no one to build it is a document. Start with an audit instead.

Questions

What founders ask about a part-time CTO.

  • How many hours a week is it?

Usually six to ten. Some weeks are heavier, like a hiring round or a due diligence request. We agree the rhythm in the first month.

  • How is this different from hiring a full-time CTO?

You get senior judgment without a full-time salary and equity. Most companies need a few strong decisions a week before they need a full-time executive.

  • Can you help us hire engineers?

Yes. We write the role, run the technical interviews and help you decide. If you would rather not hire yet, our team can do the build.

  • Will you work with our agency or contractors?

Yes. Often that is the point. We review what they propose and what they ship, so you know you are getting what you pay for.

  • Can you speak to investors?

Yes. We prepare the technical side of due diligence and join the calls when it helps.

  • How do we stop?

Thirty days notice after the first quarter. Everything we produced is already documented in your name.

Next step

Bring the decision you are stuck on.

Thirty minutes. You leave with a clear recommendation, whether or not we work together.
